We're continuing to pursue our dream of creating homes for developmentally challenged young women in the south east metro area. 

As far as Heathers House, we continue to raise funds to pursue our goals. Our advisory team is growing and currently consists of the following:

Ms. Chris Peterson:  Chris works at Securian Financial Group in the corporate law department.  As Heather's Mom, Chris is intimately knowledgable of the needs and concerns of the parents of these young adults.  She is dedicated to funding an independent living arrangement that will allow the parents to feel secure and take pride in for their children.

Mr. Ron Jansen: Ron is a member of the ILCW (Independent Living Counsel of Wisconsin) appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin Jim Doyle.  He is a member of the Department of Work Force Developement, again appointed by the Governor of Wisconsin, Jim Doyle.  He is also a former Sergeant with the Minnesota Department of Corrections.  He is an enthusiastic addition who brings his knowledge and vast networking contacts to Heathers House.  Ron recently returned from Washington DC with invaluable information pertaining to independent living resources.

Mr. Dan Fleming:  Dan is the Vice President of Century College.  He has worked with disadvantaged young adults throughout his career. Dan's knowledge of the educational system for young adults with special needs will be utilized greatly.

Mr. Greg Tarble:  Greg is an engineer with the State of Minnesota.  His vast knowledge of construction, scheduling and team work will greatly compliment the every day runnings of Heathers House.

Ms. Alicia Peterson:  Alicia fills our youth advisory position.  She is currently pursuing an education in kinesiology at Iowa State.  She is interested in working in a field centered on providing physical therapy services for children with special needs.  She is presently 18 years old and will keep us focused on the current interests of our residents.

We continue to brain storm additional fund raising options and would love to hear from anyone who has a suggestion.
